As of the 2010 Census, the population was 11,367. This is a significant increase from the 2000 census figure of 8,380 people. In 2000, there were 2,305 families and 3,436 housing units.

Out of the 3,293 households recorded in 2000, almost a third (32.6%) had children under the age of 18 living with them. More than half the households (56.5%) were composed of married couples living together. Non-family households and those made up of individuals represented 30.0% and 23.5%, respectively. Less than ten percent each were female households with no husband present and people living alone 65 years of age or older.

The racial makeup in 2000 was 89.33% White, 5.02% African American, 3.32% Asian, and 3.03% Hispanic or Latino of any race. The other races represented less than one percent each.

The most common first ancestries reported are German (65.8%), Polish (6.3%). Norwegian (4.5%), Swedish (4.5%), Irish (2.7%), Scotch-Irish (2.7%) and Hungarian (1.8%).

The median age of the population was 38 years in 2000. Almost a fourth (23.7%) accounted for those under the age of 18. Children under the age of 18 were only 6.3%. Those in the 25 to 44 years of age bracket represented 36.4%. Residents in the 45 to 64 age bracket were 23.8%. The population aged 65 years and older accounted for 11.7%. For every 100 adult females there were 90.9 males.

The median household income in 2000 was $60,131. The median income for a family was $71,627. Males had a median income about 30% higher than females ($45,604 versus $35,115). The per capita incomefor the township was $26,934. Approximately 2.8% of the population lived below the poverty line. This includes 5.3% of those aged 65 or over.

A full-time Police Department was established in 1972 to attend the grown and increase of the population. According to the N.J. State Police Uniform Crime, 149 major crimes were committed in 2009. This results in a crime rate per 1,000 residents of 14.7 and a violent rate of 1.2. There were no murders or rapes that year. The reports include 7 robberies, 5 assaults, 29 burglaries, one bias crime, 57 cases of domestic violence and 29 incidents of police force.

Roughly a third of the male population is engaged in public administration (16%), construction (11%) and professional, scientific, and technical services (7%). Forty percent of the females are employed in public administration (18%), health care (12%) and educational services (10%).
