Our firm is totally taken aback by the dedication and talent that our 43 scholarship applicants have shown. We asked students to answer the following prompt with their choice of creative entry:
We received essays, videos, websites, powerpoints, poetry and more. While we would love to give a scholarship to each applicant we had to choose only two winners. As someone who worked since the age of 14 and put myself through college and law school, I know first hand how difficult it can be finance a quality education. This is a significant issue relatively unique to individuals growing up today who must find creative ways to pay for college. Christine Montemayor of California submitted a well planned and executed video essay, shown below, and plans to attend University of California Northridge in the fall.
We awarded second place to Haley Tabor of Florida who submitted an essay with a mock senate bill she wrote and plans to attend the University of Florida in the fall.
